A LMDS base station must first be built and operable prior to establishing any customer sites. When selecting the location of a base station, it is key to select a high rise structure in the general area. It is also essential that the structure have access to all available telephony services.

In the picture to the right, a building has been selected with the seventeenth floor chosen as the information center. Once the infrastructure within the building is connected to the telephony equipment and is operable then customer sites can be established. Sales and Marketing associates generate contracts with potential clients marking the beginning of the LMDS business.
