What Is LMDS? [Part V]

There is even another type of LMDS service that refers to itself as using an invisible ring which offers fiber optic like services. It requires twice as many radios at both the base station and the client locations. The picture above shows how three points are used to complete the ring. The disadvantages of this is that if communications between one of the radios fail then the rest of the traffic along the ring will have difficulties. This is similar to a local network typology. Another type of LMDS service uses airplanes to circle a specific region and act as base stations. Additional airplanes are added to the flight pattern to relieve one and other providing uninterrupted service. The obvious disadvantages are present.
